Abstract
Ámósz és Malakiás könyve az általuk felvetett kérdésekre hasonló témák mentén keresnek s kínálnak feleletet. Megoldásként egyaránt a vég kezdetének keretrendszerében értelmezik a nép sorsát s találják meg „boldogulását”. Ámósz könyve áttekintésében mindez beágyazódik a kettészakadt ország végzetes történelmi katasztrófáihoz vezető, kihívásokat s számos visszásságot magában hordozó korszakába. Malakiás könyvének kitekintésében ugyanakkor az is felfedezhető, hogy a kérdésfelvetések a babiloni fogság utáni újrakezdést követően is relevánsak és aktuálisak maradtak. Vitái értelmezhetőek a megtört lendület vég-, vagy holtpontjaiként, amelyek azonban megújult perspektívát a vég kezdetének tovább mutató, ám visszafelé is hatni igyekvő szemléletében kapnak. Miközben tehát a két könyv kortörténeti háttere, irodalmi formája és teológiai kontextusa eltér egymástól, aközben az általuk adott helyzetértékelés és az azokra nyújtott felelet hasonló logika mentén építkezve kerül kibontásra. A két könyv vizsgálata során e logikai építkezés feltárására és bemutatására törekedtem. A kibontakozó gondolati struktúra mentén jelentős figyelmet kapott a feltáruló hasonlóságok s ellentétek egybevetése. Noha az sem érdektelen, hogy különböző témák miként lehetnek – még az említett távlatokban is – az üzenetformálás elengedhetetlen egységei, az ebben betöltött szerepük azonban különösen is figyelemre méltó. / The Book of Amos and the Book of Malachi address the questions they raise by seeking and offering answers along similar thematic lines. In both cases, the fate of the people and their “blessedness” are interpreted within the framework of the “beginning of the end”. In the Book of Amos, this perspective is embedded in an era marked by challenges and numerous contradictions, ultimately leading to the catastrophic historical events that brought about the downfall of the divided kingdom. In the Book of Malachi, however, it is also evident that these questions remained relevant and timely even after the new beginning that followed the Babylonian exile. Its disputes may be understood as expressions of a broken momentum or as points of exhaustion and impasse. Yet, they open up a renewed perspective: one that looks beyond the present toward the “beginning of the end” while also seeking to allow the future perspective to reshape the present and even to work backward upon it. Thus, although the historical settings, literary forms, and theological contexts of the two books differ, their assessment of the situation and the answers they offer unfold according to a remarkably similar logic. In examining the two books, I sought to uncover and present the underlying logic, namely, the interrelationship and organization of their themes. In light of the emerging thematic structure, considerable attention was devoted to comparing their similarities and differences. Although it is by no means uninteresting to consider how different themes can constitute indispensable components in shaping the message even across such a span of time, their particular role in the formation of this thematic structure is especially noteworthy.
