Abstract

A pünkösdi tanítás és gyakorlat kritikai vizsgálata legalább két szempontból a magyar teológiai diskurzus részét kell képezze. Egyrészt egy ilyen jellegű tudományos kutatás a pünkösdi identitás, kegyesség mibenlétét hivatott megérteni. Másrészt egy magyar nyelvű pünkösdi vagy pünkösdi jellegű teológiai szakirodalom, a felekezetek közötti békés párbeszéd hatékonyságát tudja szolgálni, ilyen módon is mutatva a pünkösdi-karizmatikus mozgalom keresztyén egység iránti igei elköteleződését. Mindkét szempont meghatározó szerepet tölthet be az ökumenikus dialógusban, amelyben a pünkösdi felekezet egyértelműbb teológiai és egyháztörténelmi értékelésében elengedhetetlen a magyar nyelven megjelenő igényes és szakszerű pünkösdi teológiaművelés. A hiteles teológiai kitekintés szempontjából elengedhetetlennek tartom azt, hogy ne csak saját felekezetünk határain belül végezzünk kutatásokat, hanem érdeklődve vizsgáljuk meg más keresztyén felekezetek szakembereinek rólunk alkotott konstruktív fejtegetéseit. Magyar nyelvű tudományos igényességű pünkösdikarizmatikus vonatkozású teológiai tanulmány aránylag kevés jelent meg az elmúlt évtizedekben (nemcsak pünkösdi, de más felekezetek teológusai sem foglalkoztak behatóan ezzel az aktuális és komplex témával), noha a mozgalom világszintű terjedése szükségessé teszi/tenné a szakmai reflexiót. Jóllehet nem törekszem minden kérdést megválaszoló teológiai értekezés megírására, de kutatásom keretei között maradva, betekintést kívánok adni a klasszikus pünkösdi egyházak misszió teológiájának elméleti és gyakorlati aspektusaiba, ahogyan azokban, azokon keresztül tapasztalhatóvá válik Isten országa. / A critical examination of Pentecostal teaching and practice must form part of Hungarian theological discourse in at least two respects. On the one hand, scholarly research of this nature is intended to understand the nature of Pentecostal identity and piety. On the other hand, Hungarian-language Pentecostal or Pentecostal-oriented theological literature can contribute to the effectiveness of peaceful interdenominational dialogue, thereby demonstrating the Pentecostal-Charismatic movement’s scriptural commitment to Christian unity. Both of these perspectives can play a decisive role in ecumenical dialogue, in which a rigorous and professional study of Pentecostal theology published in Hungarian is indispensable for a clearer theological and church-historical assessment of the Pentecostal denomination. From the perspective of an authoritative theological outlook, I consider it essential that we not only conduct research within the boundaries of our own denomination but also examine with interestthe constructive analyses of experts from other Christian denominations regarding us. Relatively few scholarly theological studies have been published in recent decades in Hungarian related to Pentecostal-Charismatic theology (theologians not only from Pentecostal but also from other denominations have not dealt in depth with this timely and complex topic), even though the movement’s global spread necessitates – or would necessitate – professional reflection. Although I do not aim to write a theological dissertation that answers every question, I wish – within the limits of my research – to provide insight into the theoretical and practical aspects of the mission theology of the classical Pentecostal churches, as the Kingdom of God is revealed in and through them.
