Abstract

A történetek és a történetek elmesélése az emberiség ősi, mondhatni az egyik legősibb alaptevékenységéhez tartozik. Mítoszok, mesék, hétköznapi történetek szövik át a világot a beszéd, illetve az egymással való kommunikáció megjelenése óta. Az ember tehát nem létezik történetek nélkül és szűkebb értelemben nem létezik szakrális történetek nélkül, amelyek a világ és az egyén létének értelmét és célját magyarázzák. A bibliai történetek egyénre és közösségre gyakorolt hatása évezredek óta bizonyított. A dolgozat első nagy tematikai egységében (1. fejezet) azt vizsgáltam, hogy milyen szerepet töltenek be ezek a történetek és a történetmondás az egyetemes emberi kultúrában, illetve milyen jelentőséggel bírnak a zsidó-keresztyén kultúrkörben és vallási közösségekben. Rámutattam arra, hogy a zsidóság körében létfontosságú szerep jutott a történeteknek és a hozzájuk kapcsolódó rítusoknak, majd ebbe a hagyományfolyamba kapcsolódik be Jézus is, amikor tanításait történetek formájában adja át szűkebb és tágabb értelemben vett tanítványi körének. A keresztyénség szintén elbeszélő közösséggé válik, azaz létének alapja és kiindulási pontja az evangéliumnak mint a megváltás történetének továbbadása. Stories and storytelling are ancient, unarguably one of the most ancient core activities of mankind. Myths, tales, everyday stories have woven the world since the advent of speech and communication with each other. Man, then, does not exist without stories and, in a narrower sense, does not exist without sacred stories that explain the meaning and purpose of the existence of the world and the individual. The impact of biblical stories on the individual and the community has been proven for millennia. In the first major thematic unit of the dissertation (Chapter 1), I examined the role of these stories and storytelling in universal human culture and their significance in Judeo-Christian cultural circles and religious communities. I pointed out that stories and the rites associated with them played a vital role among Jews, and then Jesus became involved in this tradition as he passed on his teachings in the form of stories to the narrower and broader circle of his disciples. Christianity also becomes a narrative community, that is, the foundation and starting point of its existence is the transmission of the gospel as the story of salvation.
